Cashmere is like no other fibre. It is a unique and rare gift of nature, a creation of high altitude and harsh winter of the Mongolian plateau. In order to shield themselves from the bitterness of the cold, the cashmere goats grow a shaggy fleece as a soft protective coat. This extra fine down, under the cover hair, is skilfully and carefully combed out each spring by nomadic herders with generations of expertise.
